Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse

The atmosphere at Del Frisco’s is elegant and relaxing. The perfect location to conduct a business lunch in Houston. Not too crowded or loud, with a creative menu, and excellent service. The clientele appear friendly, not extremely pretentious, minus the chihuahua at the bar wearing a dress. The menu is expensive, with lunch offering lower priced menu items.

Um, be careful when you order wine by the glass…My jaw almost hit the floor when I realized the wine I ordered was $20.00 per glass. Ouch. Double ouch.

As I was seated, the server was super friendly and immediately told me a detailed description of the daily features. Her smile was genuine, her attitude sincere, and her ability to give outstanding service was present from start to finish.

Del Frisco’s dining room and bar area are not separate. The room is completely open. The ceilings are high, with exquisite design throughout the entire restaurant. The hostess and waitstaff are dressed in black, serving each customer with precision and care.

The Lollipop Scallop appetizer consists of Panko crusted broiled jumbo scallops, lightly breaded, and served over Asian slaw, with sweet chile sauce. The scallops are tender, with just enough breading, and the sauce is sweet, not too spicy.

Although I was dining during lunch, the Sous Chef, Jeff Taylor, suggested I have the dinner special he was preparing for the evening. The Block Island Pumpkin Swordfish entrée tasted incredible.

This entrée consists of pan seared Block Island pumpkin swordfish, served with a blueberry and walnut pesto, roasted Portobello mushrooms, goat cheese, and fingerling potatoes.

Preparing fish with blueberries! Impressive.

  1. Hello. I am writing from Ottawa, Ontario Canada.

I am preparing my menu for New Year’s day and cannot serve meat of any kind because one of my guests has severe allergies.

Would it be possible to obtain your recipe for the Lollipop Scallop appetizer. It would be perfect for my meal.
    thank you so much.
