1252 Tapas Bar

This Market Street restaurant is an upscale establishment, with a constant buzz filling the dining room. The kitchen, though small, sends out entrées consistently with confidence & ease.

From inside the restaurant, the beautiful people can be seen lounging around on couches while sipping a cocktail. We can all have a blast here…even school teachers! Yes. Double Yes.

The Gambas al Ajillo is sautéed shrimp with garlic and olive oil. This light appetizer is a great way to start the evening.

The Tostada de Gambas con Piquillos Rellenos consists of grilled shrimp nestled on top of toasted bread, drizzled with cilantro olive oil sauce, accompanied with a side of roasted piquillo peppers & stuffed with tetilla cheese.

For my entrée, the Salmon con Ensalada de Lentejas was recommended. This consists of fresh salmon steak drizzled with saffron sauce & accompanied with lentil salad, topped with tomato relish, cilantro, and parsley oil.

The Atun is next on my list when I visit this week. This poppy seed & earl grey seared tuna is served with tomato garlic sauce. This is one of many hot tapas items offered at 1252 Tapas.

The General Manager…Holy Moly…
I missed my connecting flight in Atlanta while I was writing a heavenly description of Derek Escamilla. I opened my laptop, turned on my iPod, and before I knew it…my flight was gone.

Wearing a jersey and hat, this is a guy that gets your attention. From our first conversation, I could easily see how Derek is the GM of 1252 Tapas. Professional and bright, he wasted no time showing me new menu items in the works. His recommendations were top-notch. This restaurant is in good hands with this guy.

I observed the kitchen working hard throughout the evening. Everything about my visit was extraordinary, and would definitely recommend 1252 Tapas for a superb dining experience.
