Until this very second I thought Don Shula was the guy that always says “Da Bears.” This is a travesty to football fans everywhere. It’s one thing to be a rookie and another to be clueless. This kind of stings on a lower level. It’s not like there weren’t a thousand pictures on the wall when I met up with the manager of Shula’s, Curtis Long, for another segment of our Signature Cocktail Series.
The Hail Mary is a signature cocktail from Shula’s Steak House in downtown Houston. Located in the Hyatt Regency on Louisiana Street, Shula’s has a lot to offer almost veggie people. Minus the BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp, I sampled a few items from the appetizer menu.
One appetizer poor people will not be trying is the shellfish trio. There aren’t a lot of people running around town ordering a $40 app. Yikes. For those living large, this app includes 1/2 of a lobster tail, gulf shrimp, jumbo lump crab, and three sauces. Don’t worry, everything isn’t expensive. How about a salad? There are a few $9 desserts as well. Remember: Being afraid of downtown is not helping business. Believe it or not, there is a place to park. The hotel valet guys are prepared to park and Shula’s is ready to validate.
