Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston

Upon arrival, Houston’s Royal Sonesta Hotel left none other than a card for me. Before that, the check-in guy was extra nice. It wasn’t like he had to be as nice as he was. He could have gotten away with being several levels beneath this level of nice. I have never been to a hotel that purposely left two pears, an apple, and semi expensive bottled water sitting there— for me. This is free, people. Free hotel bottled water isn’t the norm. Hotels love to rip innocent citizens and non-citizens off with bottled water and mini bar food temptations.

Just when I thought things couldn’t get more personal, my name was on the television. Who does this? Maybe I don’t stay in hotels much because all of this fluff worked. I fell for every bit of it in the very best way. This is the definition of VIP treatment for poor people. I’m sure rich people would not find this exciting. Victoria Beckham and Madonna would probably leave immediately in a VIP celebrity rage. Maybe I’m a part of the population that gets excited about seeing my name on a hotel television. It happens. Hotel bottled water is all the VIP treatment I really need. True story.

There is an area located on this very special floor with even more free stuff. I could have taken 14 diet cokes if I wanted. If beer didn’t make me feel sadly bloated, then I could have taken one of each and left without getting into trouble. No one tells anyone no when they are on this particular floor of the Royal Sonesta Hotel.

Being located near the Galleria means people staying here can go shopping. Poor people can stay on this floor, rather than shop, while eating and drinking for free. Those wishing to dine inside the hotel have several choices. I met with Table One’s executive chef when the hotel was owned by InterContinental. This is definitely a hotel restaurant dinner win. The breakfast buffet, located in the same area, is excellent as well. For those wishing to venture out, grab a cab and go to The Pass & Provisions. This restaurant is an all-time favorite in Houston.
