HOUSTON — Cacao and Cardamom is prepping for the Valentine’s Day rush. Chocolatier and owner, Annie Rupani, is offering dozens of sweet deals for your sweetheart through Valentine’s Day.
Rupani created six new aphrodisiac inspired flavors for Valentine’s Day: star anise and honey, a milk chocolate ganache infused with star anise and sweetened with local honey in a dark chocolate shell; passionfruit, a tangy and sweet white chocolate ganache blended with fresh passion fruit puree; almond-coriander praline, a homemade almond praline infused with coriander, blended with milk chocolate for a fresh take on your typical praline; strawberries and roses, strawberry puree and rose water enhance this white chocolate ganache into a heavy, seductive tone; creme brûlée, a caramelized white chocolate ganache infused with Tahitian vanilla bean with crunchy bits of burnt sugar; and cilantro-lime, a cilantro infused ganache finished with lime and lemon zest to balance the flavors of sweet and savory in the white chocolate. Rupani also has 26 other handmade chocolates to choose from and a variety of chocolate bars from around the world.
Special Valentine’s Day packing includes, 9 piece heart box for $22; 1 pound heart box for $58; 1 dozen hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries for $36; heart shaped mendiants for $10; chocolate and diamonds package includes a selection of diamond hearts, rings, and pendants to compliment your chocolate; and a chocolate and champagne package that includes a free 4 piece box of chocolate to compliment any bottle of champagne you choose.
Valentine’s Day events kick off Thurs., Feb. 12 with Truffles and Bubbles, a champagne and chocolate tasting for $65 a couple from 6:30-8:30 pm. Start the night off with Moët & Chandon Champagnes while you learn about chocolates and fine champagne paired with Cacao & Cardamom chocolates, specifically from the aphrodisiac collection. Come explore the history of champagne while enjoying glasses of Moët & Chandon Rosé, Veuve Clicquot Rosé, Ruinart Rosé and Moët & Chandon Nectar Rosé Impérial.
Rupani will also be hosting chocolate making classes, Love & Chocolate, Couple’s Chocolate Making Workshop, on Friday, Feb. 13 starting at 6:30 pm and Sunday, Feb. 15 starting at 11:30 am. You and your partner can enjoy two and a half intimate hours while learning about the history of chocolate, sampling of cacao beans to chocolate bars, mixing chocolate and preparing molds, piping ganache— all while sipping on champagne. When it’s over, you get to take your chocolates home to show them off for $195 a couple.
