La Perla d’Italia Tasting

Food writers around Dallas were invited to “dine around” the many different restaurants located at Village on the Green last night. Our first stop was La Perla d’Italia. People need to know the owner of La Perla has the best Italian accent in the history of Italians living in Dallas with fantastic Italian accents. Please do not tell anyone, but when the owner said Naples, I thought he said– nipples. This is a secret, so keep it. I kept this moment to myself because it’s important to always be professional when invited to participate in a fancy tasting.

The most exciting moment was watching this guy go cheese-crazy inside a see-through room. These people are not messing around with cheese. Researching La Perla would have given cheese-hints, but all I could think about was the other La Perla in Las Vegas where my ex-boyfriend with a double life probably shops. I also kept this secret thought to myself in an attempt to “belong” with all of the other food writers who were choosing to act normal.

There was some kind of buffalo cheese description described by the owner, which means someone milk’s a buffalo somewhere. Hearing this sent weird feelings throughout my entire body while also consuming all thoughts of my brain. Goat cheese is as far as my culinary cheese skills have reached, so I intend to speak to my chef-teacher about buffalo cheese first thing tomorrow morning. La Perla d’Italia’s cheese-making room, as well as the authentic Italian talk is worth visiting Village on the Green immediately.
