about

My name is Ashli Michelle and I am a student at Le Cordon Bleu. I write true stories about food & service around Dallas & Houston. I’m most proud of the articles that tell a story, with the food becoming a secondary part of the mission. There’s more to Almost Veggies than describing flavors of a dish or the fancy décor. Some people read Almost Veggies with a gigantic frown wrinkle smashed across their faces. Readers fully understanding my writing style, sense of humor, and purpose are laughing. These readers will grow old in a much more attractive way. Regardless of heart or hate, it’s just a story I’m telling.

Almost Veggies is dedicated to the memory of my brother, Dave— the best chef I know.

Bon Appétit!

Ashli, I enjoy your articles and great pictures, keep up the good work. Have you tried a Mom and Pop Italian restaurant called Aboca, located at Meadow Rd. @ Central? Excellent food, homemade bread served with a dipping sauce of olive oil, fresh garlic, basil, and oregano. Best of all it is BYOB! Their house special is Osso Buco, enough for 2, divine.
